Loose Project Evaluation
Open publication - Free publishing - More loose
Mini end of project self evaluation
I feel that in this project for a start I learned so much. Screen printing is a major factor especially when it come to printing on fabrics apposed to paper, I have gotten an intimate knowledge of the process and its variables. As well as screen print talking to other creative photographers and professional printers has given me a greater knowledge of the professional world outside the studio. I feel that my promotional skills has also been tested getting to grips with social media platforms and keeping promotion on a page going.
Software wise I feel that I have gotten better one illustrator, photoshop and indesign.
Photography, I have gained a lot of confidence within my own set of photography skills although i have learnt that using a professional photographer for something as bit as this would make a project far less stressful but also give me less control on the images I use.
I also feel that I have started improving my skills as a director and organising a team of people in the terms of photography shoots and organising publications.
Editorial - My image heavy layout skills have gotten much better especially producing publications and designing for a purpose.
I have found a weakness of mine is branding but this is only when compared to matt, I feel that I can improve this within my next projects but working as a collaborative partnership I learnt a lot from matt and his work ethic with logo design.
A weakness for this brief has been time management, although everything got done this brief's printing side was so big it really influenced the rest of my projects and resulted in a lot of late nights.
If I had more time I would of extended this brief, printed far more of my photographic Tshirts and produced a full collatoral range for this project on the lines of stock books, letter heads ect.

Crits
Here are a range of my crits from this module, I decided to put them all in one post as their all relevant for all my projects. Crit feedback across this module has been help full to spot some errors within my work especially grammer. It has also helped to sort out concept problems and design problems that I have problems working out especially when I have been looking at the same thing for too long and end up missing simple errors. Refer to my folder for the rest of my crits, I have only uploaded the few crits I have received and then out of those I have only uploaded the ones which actually give me real feedback.
Just some of the many to do lists of OUGD301
This is just a select few of the many to do lists I have made across this module, I found that making daily to do lists and setting weekly goals it helped me to achieve the targets i needed to. Due to my severe dyslexia I find it incredibly hard to keep track of things to do so I find writing my daily to do list the night before then rewriting it as the day goes along seems to work. This makes these lists incredibly messy but in reality its me refering back to them and making constant notes relevant to that day.

Laser Cut tags and Laser cut fail on hangers...
Laser cutting logo tags didn't have much purpose but it gave the clothes a nice little extra touch on them. We laser cut them into black/white mount board and they came out better than expected. This was also a chance to experiment a bit more with the laser cutter.
The tags sit really well on the clothes and also gives a little extra to customers buying the clothes.
As well as tags we made a bunch of stickers to stick around leeds and on my laptop... their nice. prefer the tags but the stickers still look cool.
Final Lookbook
This is the only bit of text in the publication that annoys me. there is one line of extra text on the right side text collumn which over hangs... absolute error missing this when I only had to set like 3 collumns of text.
Overall I am happy how this look book came out but looking back on it I would not necessarily change anything but I would add a few things. The minimalism and simplicity of it makes the publication, it was aimed to be something to give a feel of our clothing label but to make it more practical I would add some website details and some pricing detail about the clothes or where you can get a hold of it. What i was most happy about is the cover, mounting it to black paper gave it that needed thickness to really make the finished project look more professional. If I had more time I would also change the inside stock to something of a simular thickness that hold colour much better.

Lookbook first draft
Open publication - Free publishing - More clothing
Print Test of first draft: (black & white saving them money's)
Print Test of first draft: (black & white saving them money's)
Cover does not do it any justice, need to get thicker stock to show the difference between outside and inside.
Bind works well and allows flat folds.
An image flushed first page would work a bit better, also making the text collumn line up with the logo will give it more structure.
Printer failed to do these pages right, should be a half flush page of image. Keep this in mind when printing proper one.
Again printer messed up this page, but not sure how well the image on the left looks, slightly obscure, prefer something more relevant.
Reduce text collumns to line up with logo.
Rearrange images to line up, do not like the zig zag layout. Aslo no text keep it simple.
Flushed image last page would look better then a half image, feels like there should still be a next page. doesnt feel like the end of the book.
