Aperture Front Cover

Concept
Combine a number of the  images from the photographers in the publication and merge them all to produce one large illegible image with work from them all to show that im not bais in picking just one image.

Cover screen print & emboss test (failure...)

Digital front cover

This was what the front cover should of looked like, this is the screen print negative to produce the fron cover. B&W with halftones.

Screen Print
When i came to expose the screen print negative It looked a bit dark but it was still what it should of been. However when I came to expose it at bleinhelm print room over exposed my artwork allowing me not to get the right amount of drop out. This made ink stick to the mesh and not fully get through ruining my image.

Screen print negative:

I screen printed a range of Artist's

You can see slight bleeds from where I actaully try and force as much ink through as possible and its just not working... I did not have time to do this again due to having to focus on some of my other projects.

Embossing:
I have photo etched a copper plate down at vernon street to emboss the title on the front cover. I will then continue to screen print the image over the embossed cover. Screen has already been made and the copper plate is busy being processed. After this has been done I am ready to print and bind my book!

The problem I had with the photo etch was it did not emboss my stock deep enough and it was barely visible in bright light. This made me start to rethink the front cover all together.

In future if I use a book cover paper over the board then emboss I get a slightly more prominent embossing
